The Pollutant Discharge Permit Management Measures were reviewed and approved during the 4th departmental meeting of 2023 by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment on December 25th, 2023. They are now being announced for public notice and will be implemented from July 1st, 2024.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the People's Bank of China, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and the State Administration for Market Regulation jointly issued the "Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Green Development of Manufacturing Industry" recently. By 2030, significant progress will be made in the green and low-carbon transformation of China's manufacturing industry. The overall level of green development in traditional industries will be significantly enhanced, the industrial structure and layout will be notably optimized, the proportion of green and low-carbon energy utilization will be significantly increased, the level of comprehensive resource utilization will steadily improve, pollutant and carbon emissions intensity will notably decrease, and carbon emissions will peak. The role of emerging green growth engines in the new industry will be more prominent, with further improvements in scale and quality, a significant increase in the proportion of green and low-carbon industries, continuous emergence of new green integration formats, substantial enhancement of the foundation for green development capabilities, further strengthening of green and low-carbon competitiveness, and green development becoming a solid foundation for promoting new industrialization. By 2035, the intrinsic driving force for green development in the manufacturing industry will be significantly enhanced, with carbon emissions peaking and then declining steadily, and the capacity for carbon neutrality steadily increasing. In addition, the green and low-carbon competitive advantages in the global industrial chain and supply chain will be highlighted, making green development a universal form of new industrialization.

The 26th Dalian International Industrial Expo (2024) will be held from May 15th to May 18th at the Dalian Free Trade International Convention and Exhibition Center. The previous edition of the expo attracted numerous international renowned brands such as AIDA, Tsugami, Yaskawa, Mitsubishi, YAMAHA, JANOME, Suganuma, Nakashima, Panasonic, Nomura, Mitsui Seiki, Fuji, Kyocera, OSG, Meidensha, JPC, Makino, Mazak, Okamoto, Hase, as well as companies from South Korea like Yarlong and Cloy.

The China Construction Machinery Industry Association has released sales data for major construction machinery products in 2023.

Overall, the Chinese construction machinery industry remained in an adjustment cycle in 2023. Looking ahead to 2024, it is widely believed within the industry that with the gradual manifestation of policy effects and the continuous growth of domestic demand, the industry is expected to enter a phase of stable recovery.

Among the 12 categories of sales announced by the China Construction Machinery Industry Association, the overall sales of 8 categories of products including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, truck cranes, crawler cranes, tower cranes, road rollers, and pavers declined, while the sales of 4 categories of products including mobile cranes, forklifts, lifting work platforms, and aerial work vehicles showed growth compared to 2022.
